How do I download an image?

Do you want to buy a single image? You don’t have to worry about registration or buying credits. Just choose the image you want, click “download”, choose your payment method, fill in your email address, check “I agree with the Terms and Conditions”, click “Buy and download now”. Next, you will be transferred to the payment page. After your payment is completed, you can download the image easily by clicking “Download”. If you want to buy multiple images, it is more economical to register first and buy credits (for more info see section Registration). After you register, you can buy credits (Buy credits) then find the images you want. You can download your image directly from your search result or from the image details area. Choose the correct size of the image you want, click “Download”, the download will start in a few seconds and you can save the image to your computer.

What image size shall I choose?

It depends on the how you are using the image. If you want to display the image on a website (for example in your advertising banner), you can base the image size on the resolution of the screen, currently the highest resolution for full HD TV screens is 1920x1200 pixels. You can use a 2Mpix image to cover the whole screen. If you want to print the image, use our table in the image details section. Choose “inches” or “cm” from the “pixels/inches/cm” menu. You will see the sizes of the image suitable for printing for each Mpix size.

Can I see the image in it's original size before I buy it?

Yes, it is possible to view images from the Pixmac collection and Celebrity images in their original size before purchasing. Open the image details and move your cursor over the image preview – the cursor will turn into a small magnifying glass. After clicking, the image will zoom in. You can move the image by pulling the cursor. Close the preview by clicking the magnifying glass with the minus in the top right corner of the image.

Will I get an invoice when I buy credits?

Yes. You will find your invoice in your ‘My account” section. Look for Purchased credits by each record. After opening, you can print your invoice or save your invoice to your computer.

I deleted a purchased image by mistake, can I get it back?

Yes. If you purchased the image, you can re-download that image again within 10 days of the initial purchase at no charge.

I purchased the image and credits were subtracted from my account but I was not able to download the image.

This sounds like there were some technical problems during the download. Please contact us and provide us with all of the useful information about this problem. If you received an error message, please include that too. We will send you the image by email or we will give you your credits back.

I purchased an image but I am not satisfied with the image quality

Although we strive for the best possible image quality, it is possible that you will find an image with less than desirable quality. In this case, please contact us. We will refund your credits. (You have to agree that you won't use the unsatisfying image and that you will delete it from your computer).

What are the differences between your collections?

The Pixmac collection is comprised of images uploaded by only Pixmac photographers. We strive to have the highest quality of images in our Pixmac collection. All Pixmac collection images have a uniform price and all Pixmac collection images offer Extended Licensing. (See When do I need Extended license?). You can preview a Pixmac collection image in its original size and quality after clicking the image details (cursor will become a small magnifying glass). You will find all Pixmac collection images in the bookmark “Subscription”.

The collection called “Luxury” features images that we resell for our partner Image Source and other partners. These images are high quality, traditional microstock images. Luxury images can’t be purchased with credits, you can only purchase Luxury collection images directly.

The Celebrity (or Editorial) collection is very different from the previous collections. Celebrity (Editorial) images are sold under their own bookmark. Celebrity (Editorial) images have a different license and unlike the Pixmac and collection, it is not possible to use a Celebrity (Editorial) image for commercial purposes. The Celebrity (Editorial) images are only available for your own personal use (for example you personal blog). Celebrity (Editorial) images are only available in lower resolution.

What is a royalty free license?

All images from the Pixmac collection are sold under a royalty free license. A royalty free license allows you to download an image for a one-time fee without any additional payments. You can use an image with a royalty free license more than one time. Typical usage for royalty free images includes informational brochures, newspapers, magazines, business cards, commercial websites, signs and banners. You are not allowed to resell royalty free images and you are not allowed to use royalty free images on items for reselling – for example you can not use a royalty free image on a T-shirt or mug that you are reselling. You can not use a royalty free image in web templates. None of our images can be used contrary to our Terms and Conditions (for example for pornography, racism etc.)

When do I need the extended license?

You need the extended license if you want to resell items with our images - for example on mugs, T-shirts, postcards, or website templates.

Can I choose the image first and buy it later? Is there a shopping cart on Pixmac?

Pixmac does not have the classic shopping cart as you know one from other eshops. You can download each image individually with one click. You don’t have to put your image in a shopping cart and go through that time-consuming payment process. You just have to be registered and have enough credits for your download. You can buy all your favorites images at one if you like. Chooses the right size and all images will download as a zip file.
