Liebenberg Monument with Molker-Bastei behind. Johann Andreas von Liebenberg (born in Vienna; 29. November 1627; died in Vienna; 10. September 1683) was 1678-80 Citycourt and 1680-83 Mayor of Vienna. During the Turkish siege (Kara Mustafa) of Vienna in the year 1683 (the second siege; the first was in 1529) he was inspecting the construction of defend-bastions. Monument is located on Dr.Karl-Lueger-Ring opposite the Vienna University; constructed by Silbernagel (1890).
